College Freshman

Last Friday, I went to my new college for orientation. You know, to introduce the A-Levels program I'm taking and make new friends. Boo! Making new friends is definitely not my area of expertise. I can get super anxious when talking to strangers. Really. I think I have a slight or maybe severe fear of strangers (Xenophobia). Sometimes I even break out in cold sweat because I'm too anxious. It's frustrating, but I just can't seem to overcome this. That's why other people need to initiate the first conversation with me, and not the other way round.

The funny thing is I can initiate the first conversation with strangers if only there is a friend beside me. It's like I gain confidence with my friend around me. It may sounds weird and funny, but hey this is me we're talking about :)

Now, come back to the orientation day that was held the other day. The orientation was good and fun, but I'm feeling sleepy during the event. I was hoping that I could at least make just one friend by the end of the day. It's like for the whole day, I keep thinking of how to make friends with the person sitting beside me. And after all that, I'm still alone without any friend at the end of the day. I think I'm destined to be a lonely soul =(

Next is about starting my college life. First of all, yay!! I'm a college freshman now ^_^ The lessons are fun and interesting. But my business studies' lecturer is a bit scary. How can he asked for an essay on the first lesson? My brain is almost rusty already and I didn't practice my essay writing for quite a while. So, I just simply wrote out anything that I can think of. Bad essay LOL. Other than that, I find Accounting is hard. Maybe I don't have the basic foundation about the subject, but I'll try harder. For me, Economics is the best! It's so interesting. =)

During these five days of college, I made some new friends. They are fun and outgoing. And yes, if you wonder who initiate the conversation, hmm...it's them. Luckily, they spoke to me first or else, I'll be forever alone...haha. One thing that I learnt from making friends in college is that the first conversation will always start with, "What year are you born?", "You are 199...?". Rarely people come and ask, "What is your name?". I find this quite interesting. The oldest student in my class are 21 or 22 years old. I don't really remember. >.<

What I'm doing now? I'm chatting with my friends on Facebook! There's Hon Yew and Hui Ling. Hon Yew said he just recovered after falling sick. Hmm...I hope that he get fully well by now.  ^_^ Chatting with Hon Yew is always interesting because we'll most probably end up with gossiping other people. We'll pair up some couples to gossip. See who gets lucky that day. For today, the couples are Shereen-Kok Zhen and Hui Ling-Unknown guy (Hon Yew wants to introduce one to her). Then, we'll continue to talk about some study stuff then some fairy tales story. It's all about our fantasy and imagination. And that always make my day! Feeling happy and rejuvenated. =) I'm always feel blessed having a good friend like him.

Steamboat On Rainy Day!

Wow! It has been raining for the whole afternoon which is awesome because I have a steamboat date with my friends today. Steamboat is definitely best eaten in cold weather. Yay! I think my friends and I are going to enjoy it so much later. ^_^ Okay I got to get ready now. I'll post some pictures of our delicious food later :)

Hello, I'm back! Not that you know I'm back from my date already. ^.^ The date was fun and nice with great food, great friends. It's the best! haha. Like what I promised you guys earlier, I'm going to post the pictures taken now. Yay!!

Those black thing on the soup is actually seaweeds.

 Grilled overtime until scorched.
We forgot to check the food from time to time.

All of that are stacked on my plate LOL.

You probably will ask whether I really ate that scorched food. Well, the answer is no. While some people say that scorched food tends to be more fragrance, it's still unhealthy for the stomach. =)

This restaurant that we went has a signboard written that we would be charged extra money for unfinished food. But we put aside those scorched food and still does not get charged! Maybe it was just our luck because it's weekend and many people went to the restaurant or the signboard just hang there for nothing. It's still an unsolved mystery. LOL

Being A Girl Is A Serious Business

Being a girl can be frustrating sometimes. Why, you ask me? Because being a girl means we are expected to be in a proper manner, gentle, polite, etc...(all good qualities) all the time. Girls with good qualities makes people want to adore them more. Especially if we are talking about dating or marriage here. Let's say the guy brings his girlfriend/fiancee to meet with his parents. And what the parents saw was a rude girl with bad attitude, plus tattoos all over her body (just insert some exaggeration). What would they think? Of course it would be so awkward and uncomfortable! Worse comes to worst, the parents do not agree to the wedding. Pretty bad, huh? That's why being a girl is so hard and we need to give a good impression to others so that they won't misjudged us.

Now, who prefers a girl with rude and arrogant attitude? I'm pretty sure no one would want that. Somehow there's still some girls out there who are with those bad attitude. =( Few days ago, when I walked past this shop, I saw these girls wearing so little. Their thighs and chests almost showed up! And they're hanging out with some guys who I'm sure were pretty bad ass too. 男人不坏, 女人不爱. Screw that! haha. I don't know about you, but if I was one of the girls and am spotted hanging out with one of the bad ass guy, I'm sure my family would be freaked out! They would be so disappointed with me. I wouldn't want that. Would you?

Moving on to the next point, being a girl also means that we have to be beautiful. I'm not saying we need to be perfectly beautiful like a model with great figure. I'm talking about our innermost beauty. Of course it is not a bad thing to have good looks as well. It's a good thing actually. But a guy who's willing to be with a girl because of her personality, not her look definitely is the right guy. A girl's look will change with time but her personality stays. Always remember that.

Then you heard some people are saying about how we should keep our appearance really well. Most probably from beauty products' promoters. What they always said again? "There are no ugly women in the world, only lazy ones". Then you start to believe them and apply tons of products on your face. Wow, that's not a wise thing to do though. Besides spending money, you might face some skin breakout. Then you're stressed over it. You lose money and you lose your health.

As much as I mentioned, "woman need not to be concerned with her outward appearance; it's only what's on the inside that counts", we still need to pay attention on our appearance. Going to school or workplace with unkempt, dishevelled and unattractive appearance will categorize us into "bad fashion" or even "ugly".

See how hard it is to be a female. A girl with a pretty face but bad personality (girl that has good look but rude, proud, and no respect to the elderly), No! A girl with not-so-pretty face with good personality (girl that has ordinary look but is kind, respectful, feminine, caring), Yes! A girl with unkempt outward appearance and bad personality (girl who lets her oily hair dangling all around her face and also rude, arrogant to people), Big No No! A girl with good outward appearance and good personality (girl who always look clean, feminine and is kind), Big Yes Yes! The last one is definitely the best combination of characteristics ever!

And I still wonder why on earth in the society, there's still some men who want to be female despite the hardship that we must face. LOL. Then I realised, being the opposite sex of us means they have to be a man and protect their kins. They have to work to support their families too. Then again, the women need to give birth to babies which is so painful. Not that I experienced it before, but that's what I heard from most mothers. Also, they need to tend to their families needs. They need to do the house chores. Maybe in this era, the opposite happens...like the husband is the one doing the house chores and the wife working out there for money to support the family.

If we're talking about me, I would want to be the one waiting for my husband at home while him working hard to provide us. I think I'm one of those traditional woman. ^_~

According to research published today, most men want a traditional wife and women are often only too happy to oblige. To be a stay-at-home mother doesn't mean that they should totally shut off the outside world from their life. They should take some times off to catch up with their friends. Fair enough. Maybe they can go on dates with their husbands, have a family vacation, etc...

April Fooled!

When I woke up this morning, I've definitely said in my mind that I would not be fooled by anybody. But reality does not say so. I'm fooled by my own mum! I was eating halfway when mum said there's a worm on my head! Being easily deceived, I start panicking while asking her to remove the "worm" from my head. That's how I received a knock on my head. Then I realised, I've just been fooled by my own mum! What a fool! Yes, I'm talking about myself. Happy April Fool's Day!! And try not to be fooled if you can. ^.^
